Not sure if ProfTi had a thread for this or not, but this seems to be where most of the posts for it are. Thank you to my BUNNY BUDDY "NotAFarm." I absolutely love the egg salt & pepper shakers & my family will have the chocolate devoured as soon as they discover it's here. The card is adorable!

The year before last year, we had a crawfish fry. It was by chance though. We had a family get together for the 4th of July and my little cousin and her friend caught two and wanted to cook them to try them. Someone made them a deal that if they caught a dozen, they'd cook them up. My older cousin started helping, then I got the snorkel gear out and soon several people were spotting for big groups and several of us were catching them. We ended up catching so many that anyone who floated down the river was offered some, lol. It was pretty fun anyways and they weren't bad.

This morning I am working on the landscaping for the new barns/runs. Well drawing it out. I was wondering if anyone would give their opinion about this...

I wanted to make not only a wind break, but a natural privacy fence of sorts. I am thinking about running a row of Cedar tree's or tall hedges X amount of feet from the sides of the structures. I had also thought of Wysteria vine, but that can ruin your structures, so I am not so hot on that idea. Any idea's, thoughts?
What about curly willows? I could send you cuttings? They grow super fast, my privacy fence is already on its way to making some privacy.

We have brought them up by gunnysack and had crawfish boils up here.  First time we did it, (I'm showing my age here.) 25 years ago, the people we invited looked at us like we were crazy because we had red potatoes and corn on the cob in the same pot with "crawdads" as they are called here.  Now, people ask us if we are doing one this year.

I bet you can't catch them in a ditch with a net and some bacon there, can you?  LOL

Actually there are some streams and places where you can set traps right around us but the crawfish aret the same. They have a tougher shell which isn't round its sort of gambrel if that makes sense at all! They're also smaller. I just miss going to my cousins place in welsh and gettin in the boat and pullin them straight out of the traps in their flooded rice fields! Man. Talk about some good eats! Boiling them not an hour after they've been out of the water is amazing!!!!! And they have little honey holes with HUGE bugs in em! Sigh.......

Just wanted to show everyone that button quail babies and bantam babies CAN get along together. The button quails hatched on the 21st and the silkies hatched yesterday. The button quails think they've found their mommies and the silkies get really upset when I try to separate them from the quails. Not sure what I'm going to do about housing for this very unique flock of five.

Adorable!

I thought you were supposed to put potatoes and corn into a crawfish or crab or any boil for that matter? I am from NY and even I knew that.
