Well, I just had xmas in April. A package of dvd's for the kids, my turner motor, 4 turk eggs, 9 goose eggs and one of those goose egg packages have the little drawstring bags I'm trying to use for a new product!

Thank you to Gable, Reese and Krazy from this swap for perfectly packed eggs!

And the UPS man should be bringing me two packages today too!
So glad you liked them. I am also glad they all arrived in one piece. :O) I told you since you had a hard time figuring out which you wanted more...you'd just get both...lol I tried to send you one of each color bag too.

So my day has improved a bit. Got a lovely box of chicks, have no clue what half of them are. With that being said, I have 4 Tolbunt Polish chicks for sale/trade. Please PM me with offers. Obviously if I am shipping them they will have to be at least 4 weeks old so please keep that in mind.

I would seriously jump on this, but since I have a poo ton of Daze's polish eggs that are actively looking like they will hatch, and DH saying no more pens... well...

but tolbunts arent the same as polish and a trio doesnt need a giant pen

And polish eggs don't necessarily hatch even if they develop.
lol You enablers....

Tolbunts or Polish and COB's? "Crazy old Bantams" pretty much win that. ...hrmm actually I think I will call the DH........Gosh I'm seriously gonna need a chicken intervention.

Nice to see someone local on here.

Those are the two that I remember. I hit "Multi" so that I can remember all the posts that I wanted to comment on...

Oh yeah! The question about the barred/lavender chick that is barred female but comb is male. I am slowly trying to figure out all of the genetics stuff, but my understanding is that if the male only has one copy of the barred gene, then they would bar like the female. It has been a while since I read this, but here's a shot: With the barred gene, the female barred bird passes one copy of barring to male chicks only. The male passes a copy to male and female. So, if only the mama is barred, then the male would end up with a single copy of the barred gene, or a more feminine version of a fully barred chick. So, if the bird has a red comb and only one barring gene, it is likely male.

I would like to point out that I am very novice at this, and someone may be able to correct me, but this is my simplified understanding of barring.

ETA: actually, if only one parent is barred then the male chick will only have one copy of the barred gene. Doesn't have to be the mama
Well that helps. I'm positive the roo was the lav ameraucana since the egg was brown so the mother passed the barring gene. That means I have a little lavender barred cockerel. He's a wild flyer, too! Tries climbing the walls every day! Thanks for the info.

I got a rare breed assortment this morning from GFF and really don't know what I have and haven't heard anything yet. Got a few that are pure black with black beak and legs. Got a few black with white tips on the wings. Some black with heavy feathered legs and a few with lightly feathered legs. And three red/brown chipmunk style with a brown leg.
