Hmm, maybe someone knew what they where looking at, and decided to "rescue" chicks to ad to their own flock.
That is horrible. I am so sorry. I have BDB eggs in lockdown to ship to AyeUpChuck on Monday, now I am even more nervous!

Reese, this is what I would do. Once you get the chicks settle take that box and go see your post master. It should have never been accepted at their post office. Tell him you want to make a complaint to the post master of this individual's post office. I mean, how many other boxes have they shipped like this? It's very unacceptable.

About the box..... several months ago someone in TN asked me to ship chicks so I asked at the post office and he told me to use the express flat rate box and put holes in it. Never did do it but that advice came from the POST OFFICE LOL. They don't know what they are doing, they just work there.

It is ILLEGAL to OPEN ANY MAIL that does not belong to you. They RIPPED my box open, litterally tearing the sides out of it. Postal workers are to NEVER open any mail live birds or not. Oddly enough they only "removed" the colored chicks, leaving ALL the yellow/white ones. they also took ducklings. Its theft while in transit and isnt acceptible on any level. The fact they were stupid enough to put water in an open container and then ship them 9which is against USPS safe shipping regulations) is just another check on the idiot scale for this claim.

you can always ask them to submit tests that arent part of their regular check. You can also do it yourself through Avian Biotech as they process them and send you the results very quickly.

So the LLO flock was shipped out yesterday, sadly they have no updates on tracking and are likely in Memphis having who knows what done to/with them at this point. I no longer worry about stupid local offices, I now worry about theft in Memphis by someone who obviously has their eye out for new birds for themselves.

yep, since we bought the LLO flock from gable I sent Profti the 2 buff orps and the LLO orp chick we hatched. ALL are missing. The lavender AM is gone, ALL of the blue EE chicks gone
