Aww
so had a full weekend. worked on the coop a lot but it isn't even close to done...but it's a lot further than it was! and since the daylight is hanging around longer and it is supposed to be nice out, I think we will get it done in the next few days to the point where we can put birds in it. (which I'd love as I have 7 week olds in the basement making a big-ole mess) and I have 4 broodies that I gave eggs to when they were to go into lockdown. I love broodies!!!! I have a pair of Barnevelders that are just so fun to watch with their new chicks (hatched yesterday and today) They have teamed up to raise the 6 chicks. One provides warmth and the other one shows them how to eat while on a hair trigger with the ninja smackdown if any other chickens comes too close. Too darn adorable. the chicks are Maradunna basque and Rhodebar from eggs from BM6 and CPL. and a couple of barnies. this Welsummer decided she HAD to set in the goat house. so I let her, but I fenced her in with hay bales. she now has 4 chicks under her: Maradunna basque and what I think might be Silver Sussex from CR Farms? anyone know what silver Sussex chicks look like? they all are letting me reach in and check eggs and chicks without getting too crochety...but are flying off the handle if it is another chicken that is bothering them. So I think they know that I am trying to help.
that's too freakin adorable! I can't wait to get my silkies in the incubator from everything ice seen they really like being broody.

Did anyone else get the email from RBA that they're now going to charge everyone a fee to be a member on the site? That stinks! I guess that is going to put my stalking on hold...
Well it seems if you pay a fee they can verify you

Looks like they have the ebay bug. Charge, charge then charge again. Ebay just went up to 10 percent final value fee. They now also charge their fees on shipping too. They also own paypal add another 3 percent. so if you sold eggs for $10 plus $15 shipping that is $2.50 plus $1.05 pp
So a $10 sale made you $6.45 not a good place to do business.

Well I called PP and now they denied my claim because it is live birds and they don't cover live birds. I emailed the seller and told them I lost another birds and sent proof of a photo and they said it wasn't there problem.

So pp told me if I go to my bank and file a Merchandise complaint my account won't get shut down. Only if I file a unautorized charge.

RBA hasn't gotten back to me on the feedback nor have they removed the sellers feedback, so I am done with that site. They were the ones who told me to leave the seller negative feedback. If I was getting it in return I would have never left it.

So pretty much looks like I don't get any kind of justice.

So I paid $160 for 4 birds. Seeing how 3 died and 2 are not the color I was supposed to get. The rest are sick.

Well at least it was a nice day out today and I got to clean some more coops today and trim the Goats hoofs.
Paypal did that to me too. I bought eggs from a well know breeder. The ad said they were to be shipped right after the auction ended It took the person a month to ship them. They were put unwrapped inside a nest of newspaper. They reeked of smoke and started stinking of rotten eggs right away. Apparently they were a month or more old. Paypal found against me because it was against paypal use policies to buy eggs. Why against me and not the seller, they used paypal improperly too. That was a tough $100 lesson.

ok, I am working on my facebook page for the farm, still haven't got to my website. But anyway...

Good Morning, Happy Chicken People!

If PP doesn't cover birds or eggs, then why do the swap payments as a payment. Maybe we should consider sending it as a gift. I know I have refused to send as a gift in the past, simply because there are no protections that way. But if there aren't any anyway, why are we paying a fee for non-existent protection? Something to consider.

Enjoy your day!

How long before serama start laying typically? Somewhere said about 16-18 weeks, but that almost seems too soon to me. My little group is at 16 weeks. While I'd LOVE to start seeing eggs soon, I just don't think that's going to be happening anytime in the next two weeks.

Mine started at about 18-19 weeks.

you file the claim with your bank for items not as described and dead on arrival. Sorry you are dealing with crud, but follow through with your bank. PP will freeze the funds in his account from your purchase when the charge back is filed with your bank

x2 time to take the next step!
