Have you tried butchering the turkeys??? It is tough, but not as bad as I thought it would be. I cry, but I guess I should only worry when it doesn't affect me. I have my breeding turkeys and the rest are named either Christmas or Thanksgiving. I just keep telling myself that for each one I butcher, it is one less that has to live in factory farms next year. It helps me....that and getting them drunk!!!

I believe not only is it better for the bird but it has to be better for me and my family.

G is limiting me to the back yard. We have 4.5 acres, but 3/4ths is the front yard! I just wish I could get something other than poultry... I want red meat. Can't wait to see pics!

I just love them, but I have 13 adult turkeys right now and 60+ eggs in the incubator. I'm not sure what I'd do with more, what with having a 15 poult min and all. I just wish I had gotten them in last year's order. Maybe eggs from you next year????????

OMG he is soooo cool. Stacey at Thistle Down Farm in Davis has a couple super cool turkeys and everytime I go there I want to get some, then I chicken out. One day!
