I don't know if they've changed the formula from when I was told that. I received eggs marked with what looked like a sharpie and had a great hatch. I don't know if it affects the chicks later on.

Sharpies.  Suppose to be toxic to the growing chick.  Grease pencils are real good.

That's weird! I mark all my eggs with a fine point sharpie and hatch rates are good. Especially my own. Maybe type of size of marker? I always use fine point to label date set and breed. My old addled brain will be like look at all the cute little chickies I wonder what they are if I don't.

Hi everybody! Okay, I combed through the swap thread spreadsheet (Walli, you are a goddess among chicken fiends! I bow. I genuflect.

) and hopefully have been in touch with everybody. (Need to double-check, though!)

Isbar hens and roos are all getting to know each other I will be setting a test batch early next week to test for fertility. If test goes well, yay! I will start sending swaps out -- I will pm frst for current shipping address and to make sure you've got incubator room

If test doesn't go well, I will keep setting a test batch weekly until we have solid development and good fertility.

I received 3 Isbars from CPL in a swap for fertility testing and none of them developed.....

but I did get 3 basque and one lone little legbar cockeral
