I will this week too. But I have eggs on the way for me. I'm afraid to set more of my mixed ones to sell since this batch isn't moving at all. Grrrrr.I think my best hatches happen that way! I knew I needed to move eggs tonight, so I opened the cabinet and heard a funny noise. Out flopped a khaki Campbell. The other three eggs had pips. Got all the chicken eggs gathered and moved, but you know I'll just do it again next week at least once.
But wait I have a whole tray absolutely EMPTY now and nothing to put in there. Eeeee gads! Must get more eggs.

Any time I have extra chicken mutt eggs we set them and raise them as replacement layers. The roosters get sold to the Hmong customers for their fall festivals. They purchase at least 5 roosters to every 1 pullet. I would set some, but my Chicago customer came and bought everything I had today. He left with 40 dozen eggs. I prefer to set them over washing, but those layers pay he feed bill.I will this week too. But I have eggs on the way for me. She is just sloooooow to mature. The legs turn blue later with some hormone change. the question is would she pass the slooow onto her chicks, that would be a bummer. My white Bresse girls have been testing out the nest boxes! They are all looking great except one. I had to pull her and put her in the layer flock today. She has nearly green eyes and white legs. Beautiful girl, but she does not have proper Bresse coloring. She came straight from GFF with my others. I guess she's just a fluke. Her face isn't red like my other girls either. Weird.
