OK...................gosling update .........................Someone here from my hub in Orlando (actually 3 someones) stop everything with one stay 2 hours past his shift to email, text and call Memphis TN to find these babies. -------------------------Finally the box was located.................they didnt think it would fly out until after 5 our time to not arrive until after 9 local time........ we dont get express mail in over night so it would be tomorrow before they were sorted and sent here to our island. ------------------------Supervisor in Memphis personally drove them to the air plane (it was already packed and leaving) and they got a hand delivered ride to the pilot who is in charge of them now. ----------------------They are set to be in between 8:00 - 8:30 our time. This means WE will be there waiting for them with the brinsea eco brooder, box and food and water and grogel ready to drive them home. this will be a crazy evening, between chores, kids, dinner, picking up the goslings AND our high schooler has solar cooking competition tomorrow we are suppling the duck for and I need to prep it with the herb rub. :caf On a different note.............. my hubs live animal person had everyone on speaker phone with me and had the liason pull up our farms website to show them our shipping policy lol He said see she does it right, ships the right days of the week, we owe it to her to get them here alive. PPPPSSSSS...... its raining AGAIN, still, more lol ......think we shall build an arc
Yeah! For the ducklings. Boo! For the rain. I'm so ready for summer. Hot, humid, dry summer. I like the heat. Hate the cold. My sister left for her move to Vegas on the 1st. I think I should join her.

O MY GOSH!!!! Isn't their someone on here that is close to Memphis that can go snatch them up?

Maybe quickly go start a thread asking for help? Someone has to save them

The problem is that the Memphis hub is not the USPS- it's fed ex- they have no way of tracking until they get to a USPS distribution center.

received eggs from mzstre, from a sideswap.....probably the best packing job I have ever seen!!!

Yay!!! I'm so glad they made it ok! Please let me know how they hatch for you. :)

Thank goodness someone helped! I hope they're all in good health when they arrive! :D

So glad things may work out for your little ones!

I am at my wit's ends with shipped eggs lately. I have eggs that have been shipped and some of them are making it to lock down and then not hatching. I have tried sitting them upright for hatching, didn't help. 2 eggs out of 10 hatched. Others just don't hatch out period.

Eggs are arriving packaged well, I am setting them in proper position to let air cells regulate for 1-2 days, weather has been some what cooperative, humidity at 65%-70%, depending if chicks are hatching from my eggs, I know there are no guarantees on shipped eggs, but sometimes it is just gets you down....

Sorry, just needed to vent a small tiny bit!

Vent away, maybe someone will have an idea. It sounds very frustrating!

OMG!!! I have a turken in my incubator. Scared the bee-jesus out of me this morning, it must have come out of one of my unmarked hen's choice eggs. SURPRISE!!!! I thought I had some kind of deformed alien birds until I figured it out. It will be interested to try to figure out what to do with the little guy in MN. Maybe someone could knit him a scarf!

Has anyone ever observed that they look slightly obscene?

Wait till you start hatching out some of my showgirls. And yes, turkens are both heat and cold hardy chickens, some of the best I have been told!
Oh my lord! My neighbor down he road just called to tell me my geese are down there, still on our property, sassing him as he went to get his mail! Now I have to go out in the cold rain to tell George, the gander, to go home. My neighbor doesn't believe me that it will work. He's scared of them and thinks they might come across the road to his property. Those panty waists won't cross a busy highway. Scared of a goose. How funny. Chase em and see how quickly they stay to fight. Thankfully my other neighbors aren't such babies. But then the stupid goose shouldn't be that far away any way.

Ok he called back to say he told George to go home and he and the girls are on their way back. My neighbor was shocked it worked. Better go make sure they get back off the hay field though.
OK, that is AWESOME. I would have figured he was responiding to your tone, not your words, who would have thunk!

I am so glad you got them moving on that one. The thought of those poor little goslings sitting there in limbo and dying was awful. I am so glad you made a fuss and got it fixed!

I wish I had the cooperation of the Post Office over here, I don't trust live deliveries any more - or the "hold for pickup" that doesn't get held - or doesn't get called..

On a good note - I have fulfilled my 7 probationary swaps.. I am FREEEEEE!

Its a good feeling - and a sort of scary feeling - like somebody just took off my leash and said "go play".. Now I have to hold myself back.
