Oh yeah....you may end up with a pencilled palm with that one...was looking at genetics for them last night and they are basically a royal crossed with either a bronze or narragansett
I am going to keep some of my Narries babies, and see what they look like this fall...may not have to order from porters

What's CSA? my brain can't quite come up with what that stands for...
May need to put a top on the fence to keep the little ones in until they get big enough to fend for themselves, they will be good size birds, I bet her tom weighs about 40 lbs or so.

Community supported agriculture. People buy shares at the beginning of the year and get weekly shares. We provide fruits, chickens, eggs, and turkeys. Our products are a separate billing as we are not the CSA but a separate supplier. The customers are begging us to do pork and beef or lamb also, but we need to build at a pace we can afford. No government welfare here! Money has to all come from profits, so in time but not this year. We also have huge orders for both the cornishX and our Cornish game.

I hope you get to do pigs, beef and lambs! I'm forbidden from anything larger than a turkey. :( I'd love to have a little farmlette. Keep dreaming I guess! At least I can finally get fruits now, since we own the land. As soon as trees go on clearance, I'll be picking up some more (peaches and cherries this time).

Yeah I'm thinking of adding some sweet cherries this year. I have three different kind of tart and make awesome pie fillings with it. I recently picked up some more blueberry bushes too. The blackberries are going crazy this year! And I think I need to move about 1000 starts of raspberries as they are way to thick right now. I love being able to grow and raise most of what we eat!

ok, I think I have learned how to make that fondant or whatever they call that shapeable "frosting"...just mess up and get a couple drops of water in your melted chocolate and voila...chocolate that will not melt again, and you can shape

Okay guys. Here are a few pictures of my brahmas. Can anyone guess at rooster or pullet? I'm clueless. As I said, these guys are close to 14 weeks old.

I have raspberries in, have to plant my seedless concord vines and apple trees. I am thinking about just getting wild blackberry starts. The blueberries, I want to wait for them to go on clearance too. I just cannot afford $15 for a bush. $20 was steep enough for me for the trees!
