LOL! It's a fruity scent, mostly banana. ;) I found out that the vanilla content is only 1%, so if I make soap, it won't turn it brown... I can only imagine brown monkey farts soap selling poorly, lol.

Heather giving up candles? Either you REALLY like them or you bumped your head, LOL!

Too funny! I want some candles, didn't realize you made them till now!

If its a red lleghorn I would snap it up in a heartbeat!
It is a red leghorn, I'll look at it today to check the sex. A friend got an order from Sandhill and went in on the order with his boss. His boss had ordered exchequer chicks and decided he no longer wanted to receive them. I offered to buy the eight chicks. When Sandhill sent the order, they had included red leghorns as box fillers. My friend said, "you can have them too if you want them". I wasn't particularly interested in having reds, but what the heck!

When the order arrived, his wife decided she liked them so he gave me two and kept two. One of my two died overnight. Anyway, I ended up with one chick that is now around a month old and the last I looked at it I believe it was a roo.

When I wasn't planning on working on something to begin with, around here pullet = egg flock, roo = freezer.

I'll look at it when I go out to that brooder and let you know.

Awesome! Our two girls are so pretty and they need a man! Well he wouldn't be a man yet but eventually. I much prefer the reds to the browns. I keep getting the browns mixed in with the Wellies. Way too similar in pattern. The reds look like none of the other breeds. Plus they are really sweet.

Well, I figured out what must have happened with my Favs.  My Fav pullets were in with my Sumatra prior to me selling them and acquiring the Fav cockerel.  I sold him almost a month prior.  He must have been very potent because that is the only way that the chicks could have come out black.  I checked fertility.  I never dreamed that they would still be carrying swimmers from the Sumatra after almost 30 days.  WOW is all I can say.  Regardless, I am sending new eggs out this weekend.

On a different note, anyone have good graduation gift suggestions for my son?  With everything that is going on the trip that we had planned on giving him to NYC is out of the budget.

X2 My step daughter is graduating this year too...

Hmmmm...when my daughter graduated from high school she wanted, and got, a tandem parachute jump. Son just went for jump lessons. Scuba certification came later. Maybe find out something cool they want to learn to do, and pay for lessons?

YYYYAAAaay! My Arkansas shipped choc orps hatched. 10 out of 12, if I knew then what I know now I'd rather spent my money with this seller than the boob from SC.

Ok you turkey people out there... My husband has a friend that is wanting 12 royal palm turkey poults. If anyone can do this and wants tbe business... Pm me prices with shipping
krafty, I don't have any Palms, the ones I have hatched I have sold...if no one else here has them to ship, check out Porter Turkeys, they have awesome birds...poults are 12.00 each. I don't know what they charge to ship but shouldn't be too bad and there's a live guarantee. So I am thinking that may be the best way for your hubbys friend to get the birds he wants.

No eggs from the MF cochins. I was hoping that they'd have an egg in there this morning. There are three broodies in there and it's almost painful to waste that broodiness. I don't want to put any of my bator eggs under them though. With QT, I don't want to screw anything up. If they'd lay a few eggs though, I could let the broodies use their "talent" and not worry about mixing birds with the whole QT thing.
My stupid Narrie hen, kept trying to set on one single egg, so I caught her off the nest yesterday and put some eggs I had in the bator in the nest...went out this morning and she was off the nest and had eaten one of the eggs

So I gathered the rest of them up and put them back in the bator, hopefully I got them in time.

And I got a message from the person with the Jubie eggs, and they have shipped out 5....

Also received my Rhodes and Orps from GFF....now to figure out what kind of Orps they sent. I will post some pics in a bit and maybe you guys can help me figure it out.
