In my first batch of CCL I hatched a pair of whites. I kept them both and they run with my Creams. So of course now, I hatch a fairly good number of the whites. I think they are beautiful with their crests and the lovely HUGE blue eggs.

WHAT?!!!! You have white cream Legbars and you didn't tell me!!! Send me some, please!!

I GOT MY NEW HATCHER MADE TODAY! .... with help from my chicken friend

OK he really made it all. I just cut the hardware cloth and handed him what he needed.

This is the hull of the cabinet.

He cut this part out for air circulation in the top.

This is part of a drawer. We used hardware cloth for the bottom of the drawers to hold the baskets also for circulation.

This is another picture of the drawer. The OSB is for stability of the drawer to help keep it square and to hold the hardware cloth in place.

This the completed Hatcher..... well not COMPLETE but Troy was finished with it after all my changes!

and there is not much of a gap at the back for heat to escape.

This is the bottom. The flexwatt and water will all be in the bottom... all the mechanicals will be here. The black thing is a thing for the electrical wires to go through. There is enough room for extra baskets for hatching if I need it. I think that will be more for the weaker chicks that need help with bad leg and such.

This is for ventilation. I can turn it to allow as much air flow as I want or as little as I need to hold heat.

DIDN'T HE DO A GREAT JOB! I will post updates as I put the guts in it. I will do that over the next few nights. I have a lockdown next saturday and I would like to test it before I start using it.

That's so awesome!

I didn't check the starts. They've been well watered and will contine to be with all this stinkin rain for the next month. Hopefully they are busy sending shoots from the roots.

And, yeah, I'm not entirely sure how I've never eaten one until now. I guess the expense of them and the fact that they don't grow wild on the mountain like huckleberries and such.
