had to share this cute little pair of silver penciled bantam wyandottes. She is SO pretty and laid the first cutest little egg. I picked them up last weekend. The man was looking for roos and traded my available roos for this pair. He had a good price on them and thought about it the whole swap and decided to trade as he promised his boys he'd bring roos home! lucky me!

the roo looks like he is giving the big stink eye. It is hard to capture her beautiful penciling.( he was trying to get down to see what I was doing. he is too cute also. very sweet unlike this pic portrays!

fingers crossed for you!!!! (gonna be hard to type like this, though)
Since 3:30 here. What is the deal? Everyone got insomnia.
I did, but I read my kindle...put me right to sleep after a few pages, but reading BYC is too interactive and I would stay up for hours...

Oh and noone suggested Dorkings for the white eggs!!!!! They are one of the earliest breeds ever...documented back to the Roman times and in need of preservation!

If I was going alphabetical I would have gotten them in there! Very very pretty too! For you night owls...I take pills to make me fall asleep. When I lay down at night my joints and back feel like they are swelling and the pain gets unbearable. This is why I have had broken bones and not known it until sometimes months later. Thankfully the doctors found a combination that zonks me right out. Not looking forward to the day it no longer works though, but then I'll be sitting on here waiting for someone to chat with. Glad to see I'll have people out there to talk to. My last midget is zipped and pushing, the last duck is out, a Basque is pipped and I'm waiting on a legbar and the something I can't remember. Then I need to clean inside and outside (nose prints) and get the next batch a hatching. More turkeys to love! Yeah! Hurry hurry I need more turkeys!

The cool thing about dorkings is they also have a really mellow temperment.

The bad thing is it is getting hard to find them. You can get the silver greys from the hatcheries but the reds and whites you have to go to a breeder for and most times you have to wait a while. But the silver-greys are pretty easy to sex as day olds which people like. They aren't quite "autosexing" but with an educated eye, you can tell by the wider headstripe and eye-liner on the girls.

(I cant help because my flock is now closed...but I can promote them!)

sorry to hear you are in constant pain.

I was up last night because of pain, too....and it makes you feel like you are the only person on the face of the earth.

Hugs.

Well, but you can offer eggs eventually, right?

Good morning, everyone! I won't be on much today but wanted to shout hello!

OK I was going through my juveniles last night and picked up an extra AUSTRALORP rooster and he felt pretty hefty. So naturally my thoughts were you will be good to fry in about 4-6 weeks. I also told the chicken this, I wonder if the other roosters in that brooder will try to hide their combs.
