I hear ya, DM! Seriously regretting having picked up as many hatchery birds as I did about a month ago... Well, kind of -- it's neat having a "sampler pack" of about 16 breeds/varieties, but at the same time I've really already got too many chickens. As it stands right now I've got 44 chickens, which is already ridiculous, with 13 eggs in the incubator right now, ack! Come spring I'm going to have to make some real decisions about who I want in my motley egg flock, sell off the rest, and keep myself to a limit of three or four purebreed pens. Either that, or start building additional pens in a big way!!!

I have about 18-20 pens with breeders right now. 3 brooders full of chicks under a month. 2 bigger brooders full of chicks about 10 weeks and younger and then more grow out pen. About 300 chickens. HUBBY is going to KILL me about the Jub Orps. I will not tell him what they are... till they hatch. That will work right?

Yeah I vote more pens. No brainer! Lol.

I know, I've been trying to figure out what I'm going to do if I want to keep breeding pairs/trios/quads from each of the different breeds I am getting, since I only have 3 breeding pens, lol

Yeah, trying to wrestle with the same thing -- ideally what I want are LESS birds of MORE breeds. I don't need to have a dozen of every variety!!! (Really, I don't...) But again, that means major housing changes. Hmmm....

You sound like me trying to tiptoe around my hubby when I want to sneak in a new breed. Doesn't really work lol! AND I don't have 300 chickens (yet)

Do we know what is going on with the swap? I assume it's still on hold since no one has posted? It's the biggest tease, looking at an offer I definitely don't need but sure would like!

Unfortunately it's still on hold. And I have 7 swaps now. I can actually swap. But it's better to clear things up for us all.
