I love my genesis. I am either getting another one to replace my still air hatching incubator, or I might try to brinsea... But they are so expensive. I got my hovabator genesis for $100 and it hold the standard 42 egg turner, so I don't know if I would justify getting less egg capacity for more money, even if they are fantastic. My genesis is awesome. Just wish it wasn't hard to clean styrofoam.

Cleaning was one of my issues also. I have 2 - HB 1588 and get very reliable hatches. I was just wondering if I should order another one, or sell the two and go with Brinsea or sell and go with a cabinet. I also have a little giant that I put a fan in, but it is not extremely reliable. It just does not compare with the HovaBator,
What would you do in my situation?

I am in almost the same situation...I have two 1588's that I'm very happy with and one LG with a fan that I don't like at all...I decided I'm going to wait until the spring and go with a Sportsman

There is a gentleman near my home wanting to sell a Dickey's brand 300 egg incubator. I can not find out much information about the brand. He said it is a little "dirty" inside but otherwise works well. I just worry about buying used, but he is really wanting go of it (which worries me) and said I could buy for $200.00

For what it's worth, I absolutely WOULD NOT let go of the ones that I knew worked until I had purchased and tested whatever it was I thought I wanted to upgrade to :) I would also make sure I upgraded to something with twice the capacity of what I *think* I want -- and then I'd probably keep the two ol' faithfuls anyway...

For myself, I just keep buying more $5 coolers and making more incubators!

Guess I should. If it doesn't work well I can put it in the garage with my $900.00 exersise bike and my Chuck Norris Mini Gym and my well you know the good intention purchases!

$200 is low .......

Yeah, I'd grab it and if it doesn't work well for you, I'd resell it for $150 to someone with fixit capabilities, letting them know what issues you had. For a potential loss of $50, it's a reasonable gamble :)
