My first Swedish Flower was born an entire day early. I had a strong feeling to check her eggs yesterday. I did one looked normal. The other I could clearly see the internal pip as well as it's very active beak and throat. I figured she'd be hatched this morning.. Notta.. About 3 hours ago still no progress. I got nervous and made a safety hole while candling to ensure placement and safety.. She was active.. I noticed that her egg feels very light in comparison to before. I just checked and there is a tiny crack by the safety hole but I can't be sure if she did it or I did as it connects to the safety hole.. Should I help her? Eeeeek IDK!!! I saw the egg move a few minutes ago..I saw the egg move a few minutes ago

Can you move it to an incubator? It should be fine. How long has it been externally pipped? Don't help it anymore. It can take up to 48 hours, especially if it's a tad early. Also, this thread should be in the incubating forum. ;)

As long as it isn't zipping it is fine. Just leave it alone. It probably has a lot of yolk to absorb still, and the safety hole might make it dry out or chill it.

It's weird to me that it lost noticeable weight. I thought that might mean she absorbed the yolk already..
Did you weigh it after external pip? Don't open the incubator after any external pips. It may be drying out a bit. The yolk takes a long time to absorb. What day is hatching day supposed to be? The yolk isn't going anywhere, so I'm not sure that would make it lighter. I never weigh my eggs, I just let them do their thing. I have fantastic hatch rates

I used the candler to get a better look at the egg through the incubator.. She made the crack!! It's pushed up not down. Forensically, I think she'll be ok. :) I figure I won't worry about her until tomorrow morning. She does have the safety hole. So I guess if you count her I have 5 pipping.
