Hatching ethics questions...just wondering.

PM sent, it worked this time, go figure.
I will try flicker, but i pay for photo bucket as i store my photos there, i use to be able to post multipals for photobucket but can't do it any longer all that shows up is the code

I am having trouble getting the image to the PM no matter how i try i get an error message, i will try again later.
Sometimes i hate the new setup here, i loved it when i could post them in multiples from my photo bucket
If you get it working could you PM me a photo also. I'm curious what structure is under all the feathers and such long legs. Thank you zazouse. Hope you get your pictures going cause I always enjoy your beautiful birds and scenery.

Oh, flickr does that too. Copy the code, paste it into the browser text box, and then copy out the http link that ends with .jpg and you should have your image link again. It's a little bit of a pain in the butt, but it works just fine.

The contact info in the video shows a Pakistan phone code. I said to my husband, "Guess some people think that's an acceptable way to keep peacocks..." and he said, "What, in a closet?" I didn't like the video either.

Well that's true, and I know mine would have as much meat as a heritage turkey (which is the sort we eat, I'm not fond of the broad breasted), but I know mine will also gobble any corn I put into the pen. Since I wasn't expecting them to feather out, and was expecting a really cold winter (that didn't happen), my few got a heavier portion of whole corn in their feed over last winter, and they gained a lot of weight (maybe it mattered that they were getting their normal mix as well? Layer and game bird and kitten chow, with just extra corn as well). Granted, it was probably fat, but the fat in other meats gives it flavor... maybe it would for peafowl meat as well? We give more corn to our pheasants for the last few weeks, to fatten them up some... I would expect it to be the same for peafowl, but again- never done it!

Would you mind PMing me the pics? I'm very curious and not offended by that sort of stuff. Always happy to learn from what's already happened!
Can you PM those dressed photos to Lil zoo? i can not get them to load and have been tring sence yesterday.

I have to spend about $500 in Gas and lodgings to get about $25-$50 dollars per bird(normal price for a non-coloured out bird that isnt a rare colour), its just not worth it. The closest sale is about 800km drive(one way) away and you have to be there 2 days in advance to enter your birds or they either dont make it into the sale or end up at the end(3 am in the morning and animals going for $2/ea). I would love to go to the sale that you get better prices for but its too far(1500km one way). Not everyone is blessed with sales that are close enough, or ability to transport adult birds via mail(not allowed here). So either I gotta take holidays from work to go to the auctions and spend twice the money I will make, give them away for free locally or put them into my own freezer. So eating is the cheaper option for me. Locally You either give them away or let them loose for the coyotes to eat( I rather eat the $50 bird then feed it to the rotten jodel-dogs). Well, usually the people you gave them to for free do just that since they dont want to lock the pretty birds up.... then they come whining back to you that you sold them dumb peacocks that dont stay in the yard and get themselfs eaten right out of the crate even after you told them over and over they need to be penned for a few months beofre trying to range them.... I have been raising them for 8 yrs, and the first 4 tried selling locally without success, now I let her hatch/raise her chicks and if any survive til 3-4 months old they get offered up for sale until the first snow flies.
