hatching geese eggs

I've just gotta say...NO MORE GOSLINGS!!! DH thought we should put EVERY egg in the bator and see what happens because we most likely would not have a good hatch rate...

And here is one of the Proud Papas...clearly he has too much time on his hands and needs a new hobby!! My camera makes his eye look a little creepy.

Hi Addicted2Quack

Wow you're doing really well and a very nice group of goslings there

Would love to see a body picture of your Buff Dewlap boy, he's got a lovely strong head and excellent Dewlap development. I see you've a nice mix of goslings too with Greys and Buffs. In fact looks to be about 5 Buffs there.

If you've the time I'd love to know more about your Delaps and their lines. If you're selling any Im sure Buffbeauty may be interested as she's keen to get Dewlaps and had some rotten luck with her shipped eggs having detached air cells.

Great pics and very impressed

They're absolutely lovely and look like a group of happy, healthy and active goslings. Thats a fair few Buffs you've got there

They're not at all easy to find in the UK and much rarer over here. Your Buff gander looks a stormer.

Congratulations on a great result

Thanks...we have been chatting with a few Dewlap owners who are having terrible luck with fertility. I am so glad that is not our case as we really wanted to work more on these next year. In past years we did ok...just enough to work on the next years...but this year has been crazy..even our ducks, chickens etc. have been great. lol

I better stop bragging as this could totally bite me in the butt next year!

We do have an amazing old wood incubator I just love..we have been using that one for about 15 years or so and tweaked out any flaws we could find. So, I am blaming the incubator...Chores Chores Chores...Here I come!!!

You've had a great result. Some years it just goes so well. Ours had a few hiccups but we're pleased with our own Dewlaps and should have a few youngsters to run on for next year.

Whats the lines behind your Buffs?
