hatching geese eggs

Quote:
last night my incubator was running at 50% i sucked the last of the water out and it droped to 45% and opened all vents i am floating my trout runner eggs in with my marans for a couple days.
my fawn and white runners are almost done hatching in hatcher probly by tommarow morning. so goose eggs are by them selfs for now. but incubator is running totally dry at this moring at 35%
dont think i can get it any lower because this is what the room is running to 35%. it has been raining and cold 47f-32f all week here. my goose eggs are not doing the rolling thing yet. will take pics of air cells tonight to let everyone take a look.

Good Luck Critterranch. When I had 1 aircell smaller than the rest I didnt add any more water and more or less just turned them and the humidity was run at 25% for 3 days...it did the trick and I had nice big air cells on them all...even tho 1 was a little bit behind it hatched within 24 hours of the rest.

Hi

Dont worry at least you've got down to dry conditions and you cant control the environmental conditions. I would still cool for 15 minutes daily and keep the vents open to allowmaximum air flow. The pictures will be very useful - best of luck with them

Wonderful - a fantastic quartet! I think Leap's a boy, he's bound to be as he caused the most worry

heres my air cell pics from tonight.

left 2 are the largest. the top on left is the largest i can see movement on edge of membrane it might internally pip tommarow. this egg has had great improvement of aircell size in just one day.

2 in middle i cant see movement air cells are smaller. they have slight angle to air cells

3 all the way to right are smallest and air cells are straight across no angle to them

down to seven eggs i changed batteries in flashlight to get good candling in. one was really rotten and free moving on inside. i didnt draw lines on goose eggs before tonight because i am so use to eyeballing it with the duck eggs i didnt bother to do it until tonight.

incubator is still running totally dry at 35%-42%
