It's funny how each group is different. This batch is very quiet & content. Hardly know they're in the family room. Yet, when out of the brooder, they're rather active. Our last batch's peeping could wake the dead - or at least everyone sleeping in the house. They were better for posing, because they simply stayed where we put them. Hope our next batch is somewhere in between.Adorable...day after Easter hatch pic!!!!! I love the 2 adventurous chicks up higher on the pile! Better keep an eye on those 2...LOL![]()

so sorry to heard that. My condolences, prayers for you and your family! My daughter's project got 91% hatch (21/23) in the incubator & 86% hatch (6/7) from the broody. Of course I'm not sure if one of the broody's eggs was fertile (a clear), so perhaps 100% if we left that egg out. This was one of our better hatches 27 chicks out of 29-30 eggs, but I am barely feeling anything right now.
I’d give anything to turn back the clock to last week when Mom was fine & life was normal. I was so excited about my preschool classes & hatching chicks. Mom had a cold & went to bed Thurs night. Around 3:30am, my dad heard her gasping. The paramedics revived her, but the moment without O2 was too long. The brain did not have enough oxygen, and damage was done. As we waited, only basic reflexes returned. Many people came to visit. The docs recommended we say what needed to be said (final words) but I had none. How can I say Good Bye to my mom? Mom passed away Monday night while I held her hand. She was such a blessing & a major part of our lives, so I am having difficulty. If you have a moment, please say a prayer for my family.
