Hatching shipped eggs

I put 24 shipped Canadian Bresse eggs in my incubator 2 days ago. They traveled all the way from British Columbia to me in NE Quebec. In the US that would be the equivalent of LA California to Bangor Maine lol. I should have let them set a full 24 hrs before putting them in my incubator but they were a week later than I had wished and have other breeds in line for the next 3 month following. So They only sat about 10 hours before they went in. I have them point down with no auto tilting at the moment. I plan on candling tomorrow night to determine the air cells. I also added some of my own bantam Wyandotte lace wings eggs as long as I was running the machine. One arrived with a tiny spider crack in it. I saw someone successfully hatch an egg on YouTube is similar shape once by just putting a piece of scotch tape on it. Why not? I haven't got anything to loose! :idunno

I've never hatched goose eggs, but have hatched chicken eggs several times. With chicken eggs, let them sit for at least twelve hours at room temperature, to settle before you begin the incubation. I would imagine that goose eggs would be the same. Then be sure to follow the temperature settings for the type of incubator you use. I switched from a still air to a forced air bator this spring, and I cooked about 16 embryos in my first go at it. I'm hoping for better luck next time.
Good luck with your hatch!
I too switched from a still air to a forced air this year. I cooked my first batch when I first started out :barnie I also went for the auto humidity control. OK it's pricey but I am so enjoying being able to regulate conditions so much better. I hated the bio gunk growing in my Styrofoam incubator when they started to hatch. Also the guess work with humidity and those water trays. I just wasn't any good at it. I still kept it though for emergency back up.

I had a cheap Chinese 12 egg incubator that actually worked great to hatch some duck eggs last fall - it was auto everything, though I didn't use the turner for the duck eggs. I got the Hovabator Genesis last month and wish I had paid the extra $50 to have the thermostat thing instead of the ghetto turny-wheel disc thing (at least it has a fan for air circulation). I feel like I'm always tinkering with the temperature, though no spikes yet. But my husband was already having chicken anxiety from how much money we're spending on the new house, feed, shipped eggs, etc, I feel I had to go with the less expensive model. I did a super quick candling last night (day 5) not actually picking up the eggs but just shining the light stick onto the fat ends and even the shipped ones are showing good veining! I am cautiously optimistic. If I can just keep the temp and humidity OK.

Ok I got 12 naked neck hatching eggs about 25 days ago are will shipped lost 3 early in incubation and im at almost at day 21 with 9 eggs in lock down all but 1 of those 9 is doing something an on has hatched out. I'm using my new heka incubator from Germany and so far it's awesome at holding a solid 37.5c

So adorable! Wishing for a great hatch

I will be:frow They should arrive this week.
Eggs arrived today. I’ve bought from this seller before. This time was a hot mess. I have a cracked egg in the middle of the 18ct carton (each egg is wrapped in bubble wrap) I’m thinking it was packed cracked. And about half the eggs were packed upside down in the carton. I’ve got a teeny tiny egg that is so small it shouldn’t be hatched. Im not even going to go into detail on all the crazy air cells.

Well you need to tell us who the seller is so we don't order from them
