Oh my goodness, soooo much going on! Where do I start?

Hi Coops! I'm just a broody wannabe hanging around.

Liz! Desi has become quite handsome! I really hope things continue to work out for you and him! I wonder if he will get into the habit of going into the crate at night time, without having to be caught?

TG, Teila! Babies!! I love it. Can't wait to see more pictures!! I am so sorry that you lost the first one, TG. Excited to see what is to come!

Here I am, counting on my fingers trying to figure out what time it is for Teila…. I give up. Can't wait for an update!!

We're melting here. Really melting. It is 52* out and the snow is slowly but surely disappearing. Warm weather all week. I got my best egg count today-- 9 total, 5 of which were green or blue so all the EE are finally laying. (Marsha, your turn now. Get going!!) They are also getting bigger. Since the snow is below my knees now, I have gone back to my old mudders and have not had any conflicts with Willie. I think he tried to do a little dance toward me when I closed the run gate, but I just jumped back at him and made and goofy noise. I had to get the last word in! I am sad that the children can not be in sight while the chickens are free ranging though. No trust that Willie will mind his own business if there is someone he can try to knock down a few levels on the pecking order.

Spring fever has kicked in for me… seeing all these fuzzy butts might make it worse!

Congrats on the egg count. Will your EEs please get a message to mine that it is perfectly aceptable to start laying? I have an OE and 2EE that don't seem to know that they are supposed to be converting all that feed to EGGS!
Thanks, MM! She must have heard your post, because Marsha laid her first egg here today! And, . . . . it's cream-colored! Haha! I knew there was a good chance it wouldn't be blue/green, since she's got a bit of a single comb and no beard. Oh well, she's pretty enough that her eggs don't need to be. It's a nice, healthy-looking, pinkish-hued, large egg, and I'll take it! Now it's up to Jan to provide the color.
Yay for Marsha!!!!

my bator baby looks like a ballerina stretching on the floor. Spraddle City!!! ACK! I won't be able to give her to the broody if she is spraddled and the longer it takes to clear it up the more likely mama won't take it back at all and my H is going to give me the "I told you so." when we have to raise her in the house because he pretty much did tell me so when I told him I wanted to hatch the bantams indoors and you can't raise a single chick because everyone needs a friend so do I take any other chicks away from the broody and raise them all in the house???

In other news @Teila has certified out of the egg chicklets. That is so exciting.

Thank You Liz, I am struggling! lol. I want to go home and see my bubbies, how many etc .. it is killing me! 3 hours and counting :)

MM, thank you for your running celebration .. I promise not to tell

Aaaargh TG; sorry to hear that news ... on the bright side, when he/she is all better you will be able to name him/her after a famous ballet dancer; Margot or Rudolf? :)

OK, that 30 minute break abruptly came to an end .. back to it .. hopefully more news later :)

Quick update ... Hubby just rang and confirmed 5! Two yellows, possibly two greys and a blackish! lol That was just what he could see when he gave Cilla a drink, didn't lift her up or anything.
Even if we have no more, 5 from 9 shipped eggs is pretty good I'm thinking .......I WANT TO GO HOME AND SEE THEM!!! Aaaaargh 1.5 hours to go!

Woo hooo; 7 from 9 so far .. giving the remaining two a bit longer even though I could not see any pips :)

Remember how Son, Hubby and myself got to pick 3 eggs each?
Son = 3 from 3
Hubby = 3 from 3
Me - 1 from 3 to date .. pffft lol

Here are some of them ... so happy!

Soooooo Sweet! Here is a beauty shot of my baby

I have hobbles on those legs believe it or not but they are clearly not tight enough. I will tighten them this afternoon but for now this is an improvement over what it had been. yesterday it looked like this:

Oh wow, TG! I'm glad you're getting improvement! How are the broody babies?

Just one and it seems to be fine. It is a mutt chick from my mutt girl Norma. Not sure if Dad is the General..a New Hampshire or if it is Ozzie my Delaware. The broody is my aunt's so I haven't seen it since yesterday morning but as of then there was one darling and alert little one.

Re-hobbled this one and it is getting around GREAT! So hoping I can cure its leg issues in time to get it under the broody.

It needs a friend.

TGG I was thinking about Cookie being a lonely only...I have put out a call for Bantam Chicks around me.
