Hello to all, Wolf (my wife) and I are building our retirement homestead, at two years into getting everything ready we can now see the day fast approaching when we will be full time living on our acreage which is called Heca Asnikiye (Buzzard's Roost). The name came from the Large, dead, oak tree that is prominent on our land and the many turkey vultures that like to roost upon it.

We have plans to become fully self sustaining and will free ranging chickens, guineas and ducks for our fowl needs.

I look forward to learning much and sharing what I know.

Hi and welcome to BYC!

It takes a lot of hard work to build a homestead so good for you on all the progress you and your wife have made. DH and I are about 1 1/2 years into our own adventure with that here in FL. Since you are interested in a self-sufficient life, you may find this forum interesting:

It's nice to have you here and I look forward to reading more posts from you!
