Have a real dark egg anyone have suggestions?

Great idea! How did you win yours?
They were doing the newbie thing on the meet and greet page. I can't remember exactly how it went. Every month they randomly picked a newbie or the number of newbie and they recieved a 6 month membership. I've enjoyed having mine. I have to say had I not won it, I probably wouldn't have thought about getting it myself, but since I got it, I like it and want to keep it...lol

Very cool. Thanks for the suggestion. I may do it also!

Me too. Thank you for the suggestion.

So I came home from work and the gosling is still not out. It's been pipped for 36 hours I think. Still honking and I can see I think it's the beak out the bottom. When I whistle it answers back. And egg #2 has pipped as well. On top though instead of underneath. How long for egg #5 you think? You know me the worry wort.

I have no idea how difficult it is or not to hatch geese. And I don't know who the goose guru is around here. Have you researched any of the Goose threads? I would expect them to be closer to turkeys hatch-wise, but that could just as easily be stupid of me. If its answering you and doesn't appear in distress, I'd give it up to 48 hours to do something more. Then I might consider expanding the pip, just to make sure it has plenty of fresh air. But that's all guess on my part, so I wouldn't listen to me lol!

I was reading from a few threads and a couple hatcheries and also a website from the wild life conservancy (I think or something similar) that from first pip they can and sometimes do take up to 48 hours to hatch fully. So I guess I won't worry too much as long as it keeps answering me. That is a good sign right? I was worried from when I left for work this morning because I been up since 3:30 with what seemed to me to be no progress and definitely no answering my call. But I got home from work and it seems the pip hole is bigger if I can see part of the gosling sticking out. And something must be sort of right in there if a second egg pipped. What I am hoping is pipper #2 pips and zips quick and bowls the other a little so I can get a better look or even for that matter bangs it and give it a crack. But my luck it would bowl it further down and than I really wouldn't be able to see. Lol. I know I got issues.

Also I was reading on a couple threads and picked a couple byc friends to message. So waiting for their response now.

Good luck! And for sure keep me posted! I would definitely say the second pip is a good sign!

As far as bowling over, I took a bendy straw, bent it, and weeded it through my vent hole to move eggs so I could keep an eye on pips, so I'd say I must have issues too.
