I may try candling one more time tonight, but honestly, unless the egg is weeping, smells really bad, or is obviously clear (like the one I tossed a couple days ago), I won't throw any out til after they're due. I just don't trust my judgement in candling yet.
Patman, I'd say I'm really sorry about your broken egg, but it sounds like it was a dud anyway.
I was a little worried because a couple evenings ago, my broody got up and was off the nest for a good 2 hours. However, it was in the mid-high 90s, possibly a little warmer in the henhouse, so I figure the eggs are fine. I am keeping the incubator on standby in case she's sick of it- she's been broody for a good 5 weeks now. Regardless of how this this hatch pans out, I'm going to try to break her broodiness when this ends.
