Have some ????'s about the last few eggs to hatch (sorry, long post)

First off, I asked these ?'s within another post and they "got lost in the shuffle"

, so, sorry if you see this twice.
Just wondering, those of you with smaller incubators, do you worry about how much the last few eggs to hatch get rolled around by the chicks? And I've seen other posts where people mention that humidity goes up ever time a chick hatchs. Well, my humidity goes through the roof! How much of an impact do you think this has on the remaining eggs yet to hatch? Just curious as it seems like I've always had 1 to 3 eggs that end up not hatching, but are fully developed. I don't pull eggs until day 23 unless its real obvious the chicks inside didn't make it. I have three eggs yet to hatch on my last batch and they are really slow. One has been a quarter zipped since this morning and is starting to look dried out. The two others have nice pips, but no activity since this morning. Seems like deja vu, just like my last two hatches. I'm not ready to intervene, by any means, at this point, just wondering why the last few always seem to struggle so much and even give up.

What am I doing wrong?

Why does one look so dried out when, if anything, I've been worried humidity was to high? No, I'm not opening the incubator!

Any ideas? or is this a nature versus nurture(sp?) thing, if you know what I mean, and these are most likely the "weaker" ones who couldn't make it regardless of what I do? Anybody else have this problem?

I know mine get rolled around pretty good if I don't have my egg tray in my r-com but they hatch out pretty good. I only had a problem with one being really sticky but that was my fault for messing around trying to calibrate it with a wrong reading from my hygrometer. So I reset the machine and last batch of delawares popped out so clean and easy. My machine regulates the humidity for me and I have it set at 65%. Unless I mess with it I've not tried to hatch out in my hova bator yet. Because my r-com is easier to clean. But I would like to hear what others say just in case I decide to use the hova bator. Then I'm on my own as far as keeping the humidity in the right %.

If you have humidity good for the first 19 days, don't worry about it for the hatch. It is damage over time which is not so good for them. As for rolling, mine make it out no problem. I find that some just don't make it all the way out even if they are held in place. Just happens that way. You can try making rows for the eggs so they can't roll so much but can still hatch.

Poison Ivy and Silkiechicken, thanks for the advice. I'm just getting fustrated when I always have the last few that have difficulty getting out or just seem to give up. Silkiechicken, based on your comment about humidity for the first 19 days, I think that might be something I need to watch a little closer. I've been trying dry incubation and maybe that just isn't working for me. Thanks again!
