Have you been struck by a chicken?

I can't say I've been "struck" by a chicken... I've been pecked by a couple, and have most definitely had contact and "other encounters" with chickens... But I wouldn't calssify any as being "struck."

I can...just the other day I went into the coop at dusk to do a headcount. Everyone up on the perches in a nice, neat & orderly fashion. Noticed the bucket feeder was low, so I jiggled it, just a little bit. All of a sudden, one of my BO pullets comes f l y i n' off the roost toward me, strikes me in the shoulder & calmly makes her way to the feeder as if nothing happened. Never had something like that happen before, so I just stood there with a stupid look on my face. Then, I realized it actually hurt! I left the coop in a daze. Had I known there was a medical code for this, I might have made a trip to the ER!

They have ducks... So they are on the 'dangerous' list

My SIL was riding in my brother's SUV in West Virginia (where they live) when all of a sudden a wild turkey hit the passenger-side windshield. My SIL's face was a torn mess, she had to have plastic surgery, she still has some scars by her temple..... it almost killed her! Doesn't surprise me there are the injured by turkeys, goose, chickens!
