Oh yeah! The wallet is the place to smack 'em! Just goes to show that youth and beauty (and snotty attitudes) will lose to age and treachery every time!
I think a lot of terms are probably regional, and to be used within certain social groups. So might not make sense anywhere else.
Another funny car story.
A friend and I, just friend, went to a car dealership once and we were there for parts. We were both 18 at the time. We were greeted by a sales man who pretty much started off the convo with "Welcome to Lexus of Seattle Mr and Mrs...." My friend and looked at each other and each had the biggest "Uh..." faces on. No were were not going to finish that statement. The dealer person was clearly embarrassed, and we wondered if we looked THAT old. LOL
Love it when I go to school functions, or the store and realize that I have wood shavings in my scarf. Lots of them. And they are trailing behind me like snow.

I love your story two.....I was one of those WIC moms and yes I had experience those standoffish or stardastic remarks and one time hubby and I was in a line with our new daughter, a guy from CAT was blowing his smoke when I handed the lady with the WIC card and food stamps...he made comments like people like us should go out to work or find a job and get your asses off of welfare. My hubby turned around and told him that HE has TWO jobs and still under the poverty level and we did not want to be on welfare either! So shut the f(((( up! Boy that guy zipped his lips shut tight and said no more! Now we are not on welfare anymore but thanks for the citizens for helping us out when we really needed it. And now its our turn to help a young family in need or a single mom who needs food for her baby. No one wants to be humilated in front of public but remember it can happen to you with a blink of an eye when the job quit under your feet in a flash.
I am glad that gal got fired....she had no right treating WIC or Food stamp folks like that.
I love those car dealership stories!!!!!!!!!!!! We didnt dress fancy either when we were looking at another van earlier this year LOL!
THAT is FUNNY!! Enjoyed the story. Had just the opposite happen to me. A fellow dressed in plain old work clothes approached me at the pizza take out place saying "excuse me sir". I assumed he was going to bum a couple bucks and I took out a five thinking "this guy could be hungry". As it turned out, his daughter had bought a new car and he didn't want people coming to his home to buy it. He saw I had one identical to it, same color, and after explaining the situation, we made a deal for me to buy this car CHEAP to have a "parts car". Arriving at the address he gave me, I was SHOCKED to see a gated estate with NO SIGN of anything but wealth. After I identfied myself, I drove to the rear of the house where the garages (plural) were and there he was, standing beside a car LIKE mine but NICER than mine! He said, "I really don't want to SELL the car but I'm glad your son came with you. I have the papers here and he can DRIVE IT HOME! "just wanted someone to take it that would appreciate the car", he said. "By the way, I saw the money in your hand". "Thank you for the offer". I was embarrassed and stunned. I still have the car. Mine broke down long before the "Gift" car did. I'm still just an old working stiff but that was a good lesson for me. Never "ASSUME" anything about a person by the way they are dressed.
