Well I guess that I qualify...I live in a trailer.
I have chickens,rabbits,ducks,geese,and
2 Sportsman incubators and 1 hovabator
all full of eggs to get even more chickens.
(Just don't have broke down cars on
cement blocks in the yard.)
Don't guess it would bother me too
much if somebody called me that though.
Better than being a snob anyday.

So when did farming or owning a pet become a direct link to trailer trash?

Heck, I've seen what qualifies for a trailer now-a-days and most are some pretty darned good homes.
I've known plenty of people who don't live in trailers who are down right trashy.

Just reminder her that your pets produce something worthwhile, eggs!

Wow...I can't believe she said that!!! Since when is it trashy to own a few pets and encourage a healthy self-sufficient food supply! At the end of the day, it doesn't matter what our lifestyle is as long as we are happy and not harming others.

LOL Yeah, having chickens is trashy. Your stupid SIL. I was watching What Not to Wear, and Clint said the outfit that the victim tried on looked like she should be in a yard surrounded by chickens. It was a white skirt and a cute blouse. In an expensive store. I agreed it wasn't the best outfit, but I was offended that he used a yard full of chickens to equate it with poor taste. Almost enough to make me stop watching that show!
