I've currently got a torn muscle in my back, which has my spine slightly out of alignment. Never broken a bone, but I think my sternum may be cracked. It's definitely got a funny shape to it, and when I stretch, I get this two-pieces-of-a-broken-plate-sliding-on-each-other sensation.

That's what I get for getting in a fight.

Nice thread. Yesterday I took a header off our new horse. Turns out I don't bounce like I used to. I got a hoof to my right shin, luxated my left knee, somehow broke a pinky toe, and the crowning glory was gash in my chin that required 18 stitches. Of course, it was all right in front of my non-horsey husband who had come out so that I could show him how far the new guy had come in his training.... good grief!

Broke my little toe on my right foot about 8 years ago, and it's still not right today.
When I was about 9, my left wrist got caught in a wood splitter between the piece of wood and the blade -- it required 9 stitches, 3 on the inside to cover the bone and 6 on the outside.
When I was 13, I stepped on tiller blade and had 3 stitches.
When I was 14, I jumped a chain link fence gate, fell and tore the tendons and ligaments in my right wrist/arm.
After I was married, about 21 I think, I was washing dishes, the glass broke, and cut my right index finger at the knuckle,
required 2 stitches.

At 5, my son jumped out of a swing and broke both his wrists.

My youngest daughter has had 2 broken bones:
At 3 (I think), My oldest daughter run over her left foot on the goKart. And the youngest hasn't let the oldest forget it either.
This past summer (she was 5 then), DH was playing badminton with her and hit the birdie too high, DD was stepping backwards to get the birdie, fell, and broke her left wrist.

Good heavens, carugoman! All that and you lived to tell the tale. You're sure you're not James Bond?

Wow, compared to you all, I have been extremely fortunate! I've never broken anything major, my pinky toe, and a broken nose. I think I might have a break in one of my foots from getting stomped on by a horse 10 years ago. I've dislocated my knee three times and have very little cartilage left in it...it clicks. I wore a leg brace most of the time between 5th and 7th grade.

The only stitches I've had is from delivering my daughter, I got ripped, ouchy! Had one stitch when I had a molar pulled. Then I had a staple put in this year when I smashed my head into the corner of the overhead compartment in my truck.

Other then cuts and bruises, nothing major.

Carugoman, You are a hero to me, thank God you lived to tell these amazing feats of survival.
Have you tried trauma hypnotherapy to put the memories back into your subconscious to try and stop the nightmares.
It helped me to overcome nightmares from an attack on me when i was a child.
Im so sorry to hear that you still retread those steps in your dreams.
I wish you the very best that life has to offer you.

I feel very lucky! I have never broken anything but I have sprained a few things and many cuts and bruises but that is it. Then again, I'm only 13 so I have still a while to go.

Injuries?? lol. Last broken bone I had was from surfing, First time surfing, shallow beach break and I was about to fall off the board in no more than 2' of water so rather than fall back and take a chance on breaking my neck, I stepped off the board right into a small dip in the sand. The wave crashed down on me slammed all my body weight plus the water weight onto the side of my foot breaking two of my metatarsals in 6 places.

I ended up having surgery to pin the bones back together, was out of work for 3 months and havent tried surfing since.

before that I tore up my medial meniscus in my left knee while working, thank you people and your heavy luggage

I was pulling an 80+ lb international bag off the carousel and as it was pulling me along i pulled hard on the bag, grabbed it and twisted on my knee to put it in the bag cart and about halfway through my turn my knee went *POP*
had my knee scoped, had about 2 months off work and a few months of rehab.

I sliced a nice chunk off my pointer finger at work a few weeks ago trying to dislodge a bag stuck in the baggage system. I was using a metal pole to reach it and the pole slipped and my finger went sliding along a nice sharp piece of steel.

Broke my big toe at work a few years ago, jumped off the end of the beltloader and landed toes first on the tarmac with my back foot. I didnt know it was broken and thought I had just stubbed it so I worked another 5 hours till I couldnt walk on my foot at all and had to go to the dr's.

broke my wrist once in highschool when I was in gym playing basketball , the one time I actually showed up for gym...and me and another kid jumped up for the rebound, slammed into each other and I landed with my hand behind me , palm flat and broken wrist.

I've had tons of wrecks on motocross bikes, couple concussions, cuts , scrapes and bruises.

the only bad motorcycle wreck I was in was when I was about 13 yrs old my dad and i were fixing up an old honda for my mom to learn on and we went to take it on a test run on a dirt road behind our house.

We came around a blind corner about 45 mph and some %^&*&*$ had strung a steel cable across the road. We had no time to stop, hit it at 45mph, I got thrown off the back and my dad took the full hit across the chest. He ended up in the hospital for a few days with a few broken ribs and a concussion and I was knocked out cold for awhile.

Keep in mind we have lived on this road for 3 generations, it was a dead end with only one other house on it. some morons from out of state bought some property on the road and decided they owned the entire road and proceeded to sink two telephone poles in the ground and string steel cable across it with no warning to anyone who may be coming around the corner.

lucky for me it was my dad driving and we were on that bike and it wasnt me or my younger brother on our bikes, we would have been decapitated for sure.
