And that I can/did. Had a couple girls lay practically cinnamon-chocolate chip cookie eggs. Literally had little bumps where the black splotches were.

I'm a bit of an egg freak.

Depends on strain. Most are pretty sad, often equaling hatchery Cuckoos, but I have indeed seen some people with some very nice dark laying Blues. So, depends on strain.

I have six pullets out of marans hen x ameracuana rooster and I want to find a rooster to put with them to try and get darker green eggs. I have plenty of time to work on it,just thought I would ask around and find the darker egg rooster. thanks

Generally any Blue will indeed get you some darker eggs, but darker green? Few of them will be, the rest will be darker but slightly more brown than the previous/current generation's green. But, yes, blues in that case should be fine. Just ask your seller for pics of eggs or actual egg shells to show.
