HE JUST SHOWED UP!!

He's got a pink spot on the one foot but the other foot looked black or perhaps that weird greenish color. Lol

He's head reaches the top of the door crate anDan is he a whoosie. Lol my brace bantam went up to him and he just shyed away.
How tall is your crate? I still say BA or BO.

My guess is that he's a Black Australorp. They tend to be more common than Black Orpingtons.

Very strange how he just showed up, do you think someone dropped him off or do you think he wondered his way to me?

We have a guy that lives about 1/2 mile down the road that has chickens and I told my husband, I bet that's where he came from, but my husband does not believe a rooster would travel that far?

What do you guys think.

Sure he would! A half mile is nothing to a full-grown chicken, especially a roo! I'll bet he wandered off from there, then heard your girls and decided to venture forth!!

I knew I was right i just told him and he said there's no way, the distance is to far, I said ok what do you think the distance is he said about 3/4th of a mile. So he doesn't beleive this rooster could or would travel 3/4th of a mile I'm tempted to go to the guys house and ask him if he's missing a rooster. He's got goats and I see chickens in the yard all the time on my way home passing his house. and he's got big chickens not no little baby bantams like mine lol. He likes brown layers.

Yeah, I'd check with that guy down the road...could be it's his. Better to find out now before you get too attached to him and he does belong to that guy!

So here's our update, the guy down the road hasn't lost a rooster.. I'll get some more updated pics, because today I noticed when you look at him straight on, he looks like he has hair hanging down.

I'm picturing a rooster than looks like a hippy from the 70's!

If it's hanging from his neck, could it be his hackle feathers?

Or if it's hanging from his back, in front of his tail area, could it be his saddle feathers?
