Head infection?

I found one of my silkies looking like this tonight. Is her comb infected? Not sure what to do now. She is about 7 months old, and used to have a giant bouffant.

Looks like a nasty infection in the comb. Are you able to take her inside, & was with a wet soapy paper towel to get rid of some of the gunk?
