Hi I am new to chickens. I have one speckled Sussex who has been shaking her head a little more then normal (I think) but now she seems to be picking at her feathers and such. Others on flock seem to be fine. We have 10 total. Would it be possible only one has mites or fleas or whatever? We have a dust bath for them but they tend to use the dirt in the run.

Can you get a quick video of her and upload it to YouTube real quick?
I can’t at the moment they all just went into the coop for the night. I actually see it more when I watch the run camera I have in the run. When I am out there they act differently. I can try tomorrow to get a video.

Best to check her closely allover for lice and mites by picking her from the roost at night.
And check underneath the roost as well for red poultry mites.

It is possible that just one individual is infested as parasites prefer the ones with weaker immune system. But it could also be the roosting place, i.e the bird leaning against the wall or similar
