Heading to lockdown

Update late on day 22 - all 6 eggs that I had placed in for lockdown have hatched very successfully with no known issues thus far. I am more than pleased and very surprised I got a 100% hatch rate from the 6 eggs I placed at lockdown. From a cheap eBay type incubator I couldn't really fault the outcome, the only issue I had was the beeping sound when humidity went over 69%. As soon as a chick hatched it spiked the humidity and the alarm goes beep, beep, beep. If I only knew how to disable that alarm!

Now as I live in suburbia I cannot keep rosters, I wonder when I will be really be able to tell if the are boys or girls?

Congrats!! Great job!

Does the incubator have codes for the alarms? I’ve never seen that particular incubator, but several use these controls.

Yes that is the one - same settings. Note that it has a lower humidity value, which is good if humidity drops too low - I set this to 35%. It just doesn't have a higher humidity alarm that you can change.

Ha! Shame on me, I didn’t even notice. :p
That’s kinda silly. I don’t use the incubator those codes came with anymore, but I don’t remember it alarming too much.
Of course, that was one that was way off, like 20% low on the humidity reading, compared to actual anyway, so that’s probably why mine didn’t alarm.

It may well be well off, my theory in humidity was around 40-50% during the first 18 days then from lockdown I wanted to see condensation on the lid. As for temperature I wrapped it in towels to make sure the temperature held across the incubator.
