Dose any know if you can cut/shorten these elements to get a lower wattage ie..
Cut in half = 2 110watt elements
cut in thirds = 3 73watt elements

An element is made by using a set length of resistive wire. The resistance is what causes the heat. The shorter the element, the less resistance, which means it will consume less wattage.. So, to answer your question simply,.... yes, cut it in half, and you reduce the wattage by 50% and so on so forth..

My guess is the element will immediately over heat and burn out if the overall length is shortened by half.
Let us know how your experiment goes.
