So my heat lamp decided to die in the middle of the night, it is now nearly 6am and the petbarn doesn't open until 8:30....it is summer, but slightly cool outside, the babies are in the house where it is less cool, but I am worried.

They don't seem to be making distressed sounds or anything, and it is still dark, so they are not super active, but should they be okay til I can get a new globe, or am I going to need to use some makeshift method of heating til then.

They are probably a little over a week old, and I have 5 of them....

They need something to keep them warm ASAP. Chicks that age need to be kept at about 32*C. A regular 60 watt bulb might be able to do the job if it's low enough or you can use a heating pad propped up to make a sort of cave for them to snuggle in.

Managed to find a heat pack, one of those things filled with wheat, stuck it in there....only the bantam baby seems interested in it right now, the others are all too busy eating :)

6:10am now, the petbarn opens at 8:30, hopefully that will suffice til then
