yes i bring them in at night, but during the day they can’t be fully outside in winter all day because the temp drop is too much which i why we have the heat lampYou have a heat lamp just 2’ above your paper feed bags? I don’t actually use heat lamps, instead I have a radiant heater for my chicks. This will be my first winter where my chickens will not be using a heated horse stall for a winter coop, since the run has moved from the side of the barn. I haven’t figured out a plan, but we’ve got a while here considering it’s still 70 degrees and 60 even in the rain!how do you do your heat lamp to make sure it is safe?
It’s winter in many places. I’ve got friends in Idaho who are cranking their house up to 90! They certainly should never be denied extra heat in the winter. I mean try turning your heat off! It gets cold! If it’s snowy or very cold, then a heat lamp is never a bad idea.
yes I know ducks and humans are very different, but one universal thing is that we all get cold!
