heating question

I had my chicks in a big plastic tote like you do. To help with the heating issue I purchased a dimmer switch from Target ($5.00). It plugs into an electric socket and at the other end you plug the heating lamp in. The dimmer switch allows you to adjust it to a perfect temp. Worked for me.

thanks for all the advice. I think for now I'll move the heat way from the container. I can't put them in the bathtub, as that would force me to clean myself in the kitchen sink!

I planned on moving them into a much larger dog kennel once they were three weeks old. I think I may do it now. The side are all mesh it will give them a lot more room to adjust their temps.

btw, they arwe standing on woodpellets. Very easy to clean and it soaks up the poop quickly.
