Hello! After months of learning from BYC, I finally signed up! Happy to join the conversation!!!
I have month-old lavender ameraucana with a hard mass about 3/4" below her vent. Could it be impacted stool? I did get a few drops of epsom salt water down her yesterday, but don't want to overdo it and cause more problems. Other than the mass, she was panting a bit, but definitely not overheated (dehydrated maybe?). I offered electrolytes, but I'm not sure if she drank any.
Any help would be so appreciated. Thank you!

and Welcome To BYC! The chick is a month old? X3, would try and clean her up as best you can and see what it really is, it could just be poop stuck in her down/feathers, if it is that far below the vent could also be something going on with her navel.
