Welcome! I'm envious of you doing what you love in a lovely place.
Mexico is one of my favorite places to travel. But when I move from here it will probably be a little farther south of you, by about 3 countries.

Yes. Probably the southern Talamanca mountains or the slopes of one of the volcanos.
Sounds great. I like the cold high elevation. The only issue with poultry is incubation at high elevation.

Yea I've had lots of struggles with incubation. Especially with running it and my brooders off of solar power. Its so complicated trying to raise different species and bloodlines off of a few ecoglow brooders. But thank God we did really well this year.

Chicken canoe one of our school teachers here in our village is from Costa Rica. This is her third year teaching for us.

I want to live where one never needs heat or air conditioning. I like snow but it never snows in CR. Just too close to the equator.
Do you know what part of CR the teacher is from? What does he/she teach, general elementary subjects?

Incubating and brooding on solar is a challenge. I think there were old style brooders that used candles and oil lamps for heat. I'll see if I can find some designs.

I know of a hatchery that has a building dedicated to bantam Cochins they use for hatching and brooding all their eggs.
