Aside from all the great information, it's a great place to make friends where most of your animal questions can be answered. And there are quite a few support thread for people who are dealing with different struggles in their lives including illness, relationships, loss of pets or loved ones... are just a few examples.

I hope you can make yourself at home here and know you are not alone! Hang in there.

Just started my second round of personal chickens.
First round is down to 3 3-year-old Rhode Island Reds.
Second round is currently 25 4-day-old baby chicks, Buff Orpington, Barred Plymouth Rock, and Silver Laced Wyandotte. Need to modify the coop to handle more, and probably give a few away to friends.
I also worked on a farm for a few months: we had about 150 hens, a few roosters, and then 300 baby chicks. I doubt I'll get that chicken crazy on my own, but we will see...

Hi Thunderpumkin, I’m looking to get about 6chickens to start and have no idea where I go to get them. I’m thinking to get pullets since I’m not prepared to raise chicks.
I’m also located on the coast of No.Cal. Is there any place around here where you can purchase chickens?
