I've been aware of this site for a while, just never joined. Now that my chicken and duck flock has expanded to include turkeys, I felt I might should join.
I lost most of my flock a few weeks ago to a shameless coyote pack in the middle of the night. Only two of my golden sex links and one feral chicken I captured running the streets of town, and a single drake, made it. My turkey poults and 18 pullets I ordered, were in my horse trailer and hub's shop, so were unscathed... I'm rebuilding, and discovering how fun and engaging heritage turkeys can be.
Not sure what heritage turkeys I have... I know I have a tom and hen blue slate, two possibly Narragansett hens, and a mystery tom - he looks like a bourbon red but he's sandy beige and white, not red.
