When I was growing up, Fish and game released Chukars in the Valley. Thew were fun to hunt for during pheasant season

Hi, my name is Mark and although i have had some mixed poultry experience as a teenager (turkey, duck, quail, geese, chicken) I have not had anything but quail since.

. I now have 15, 6 week old chukar I hatched, and 8 chicken chicks i ordered from Ideal. I have 4 Danish brown leghorn pullets at about 10 days old and 4 Cornish cross at about 8 days old.

. I live 30 minutes out side of a tiny town in the NC mountains with my girlfriend, our 4 cats and a tank of guppies that won't stop multipling. I am a welder at one of the largest industrial truck body plants in the country if not the world (at least thats what they tell us).

Awesome that you're getting back into chickens... I guess for both eggs and meat? I've heard that CX grow super fast and may encounter problems as a result, and also have a tendency to get picked on by other breeds so some additional care may be needed.

This site has been really helpful for me, I continue to research and I'm always learning something new. I just discovered a couple articles on cornish cross if you're interested:

Congratulations on your partridge hatch and good luck with your new chickens!!
