This is my first time of raising backyard chickens, did not know there was so much to learn ,I've been doing so as I go,wish I could have taken a class first.Did not seem my parents had to deal with so much with theirs, but they ended up killing them all about 4 years in to it .So my chickens are my babies,I love each and every one.started out we took in 4 hens babies( chicks) after she had to move and could not take them. Then after bout a year one hen went broody, felt sorry for her cuz eggs weren't fertilized,so I went to close by neighbor and got 7 fertile eggs 4 hatched ,that was in 2019 .

Hiya, and welcome to BYC! :frow

I'm so sorry for the losses, but it sounds like you're on the right track now. :hugs

Our Learning Center has many articles that might help you with hatching eggs, caring for chicks, or just about everything there is to know about poultry. Please check there when you get some time, as it might help.
