Thank you so much. I’ve been feeling so guilty. Feeling like, I was helping with the taping and I just ruined her life. She’s moving around. And eating and drinking. I’m taking her out and stretching her feet and toes. Hopefully she bounces back. She was doing a bit of desperate chirping. But she seems to be ok right now. I’ll keep everyone posted.Well, if you have kept them inside all this time, the frostbite must have occurred during the shipping. Most companies ship 25 chicks or they insert a heat pack that is supposed to last, although I have received them the next day, and the heat pack was cold. I don’t think it was your taping.
I am so sorry about your poor little chick. Whatever you decide to do is up to you. It may lose one foot and some toes. You could think about putting her down, or if you can devote the time, try to treat it and see what happens. I hope that I am wrong, but after seeing a lot of threads here about frostbite, it looks bad, especially in a little chick. If you do continue to treat it, take pictures during the treatment and post them here. We all care about the chicks that are written about here.
