That's a really hard bone to splint properly, and splinting it incorrectly will cause more harm than good. If a vet is an option, that's what you should do.Do I need bring her to a vet to have this done? Or can I do this at home?
It is just above her knee. Her hip seems fine but has no control over the legPlease help. I have a chicken with one broke leg how do I help this heal. Splent??? Meds for pain??

I am holding it together it’s not broke on yellow legIt is just above her knee. Her hip seems fine but has no control over the leg
Do I need bring her to a vet to have this done? Or can I do this at home?A break in the femur.
It'll have to be mended, if it's not aligned, splinted/immobilized, to make sure it heals properly.
Ok. I’m gunna try and splent it. I will set her up in my chicken hospitalThat's the Hock/Ankle.
If it's broke above the joint, then it needs a splint. I believe the leg would still have to be immobilized for the break to heal properly though.
How long do you think it will take to heal?Either way, but it would be cheaper to do it at home. If you believe a vet is necessary, then that's fine too.
thanks you all for ur help. Our closest vet is LSU vet school. And they really expensive this late. So we gunna go see a different one tomorrow. But I did splent her and have her set up in the chicken hospital.Read this:
