Here is the information Kathy posted on your thread last week about tube feeding.

She *will* stave to death unless if you don't clear the blockage. If I were you I would start weighing her daily and tube feeding, it's way too dangerous to syringe feed the proper amount of food that she needs, trust me! And once she gets to about 1/2 of her ideal body weight there is very little hope that she will recover even with extreme supportive care. You'll need a size 18 french catheter, 35ml or 60ml catheter tip syringes, Kaytee Exact Baby Bird Food. Crop feeding videos These are using a crop needle, not a plastic tube. This one uses a tube like I use

are those anti fungal meds?

Fluconazole and Ketoconazole are antifungals that are absorbed in the blood and will treat yeast/fungal infections in all parts of the body.

ok, I went and got the Fluconazole. I just gave her the first dose!! he said if it was fungal this would get rid of he also eliminated bacterial because the Baytril didn't get rid of her problem. she has to take this for 8 days.

I hope your chicken is feeling better today. You must have had the hard time to help you chicken. One of my chickens has had sour crop since she was a chick.. now she has pendulous crop.. she almost died at the time but she made it.
So you have a hope.

Hi, I am not quite sure...but when I read your chicken's symptom that shaking her neck weird way reminded me of my chicken who has had impacted crop. She was fixing to put her crop in the right position by shaking her neck.
Also the smell is as the same as mine. She smelled so bad too. Although your hen seems like having some issue beside of the impacted crop, that is why she is on the medication, right?

Here is my story:

A farmer who has sheep, goats and chickens including roosters helped me to save her life. My husband brought the sick chicken to the lady who we called chicken lady
and left her with the chicken lady for 2 weeks around.
The chicken lady had turned her up side down to have her to vomit once a day with her husband for about 10 days. The chicken lady fed my sick chicken some water with mineral oil/ yogurt/ baby food/ etc...

When my sick chicken came back, she was fine, but 2 or 3 weeks later, she got worse again. she didn't eat her regular food,and kept burping, sometime she puked white liquid on the floor.
So, I called the chicken lady what to do... she told me to turn her up side down to do the same thing that she did.
I fed her some water with mineral oil, sourdough starter that she really likes, and some yogurt as well until she feel full..
Then I bathed her for 30-40 minutes. As soon as I picked her up from the tub, she started to puke so much, so I turned her up side down until she stopped, then let her to breath,
again turned her up side down to see if she puked more..and she did. then I let her to breath petting her crop.
At last she puked so much that a lot of tall grass and some gross stuff came out and she hi cupped so many times like she was choking! I thought I was going to kill her... It was a really scary moment.
so that was only one thing that I could do was petting her crop for a while..... then she was completely fine to look for food.
And, I never had seen her not to eat her regular food, nor greenish poops.

Her crop looked huge even she puked a lot, but that is what she got to deal with.
She eats like a pig too. I have to cut back on her food whenever her crop gets enormous.


The chicken lady's way is to fill her up with some certain amount of food, then having her to puke.

You chicken seems like have other issue besides of the impacted crop .. She doesn't eat, does she?
My sick chicken didn't eat any solid food, but she ate some yogurt, sourdough starter by herself until she started to burp.

When was the last time she laid an egg? her abdomen is normal? I read on the other thread here, one hen did have a normal abdomen, but she opended her up to see inside,,,
there were some egg yolks without shell inside of her.
I hope that is not causing her main problem not to eat.

How is she doing now? I really hope the antibiotic works on her.

Ok this morning Charolette had little tiny rocks in her poop. what does that mean?

It means that she ate little rocks and they have worked their way through her system.
