HELP! Assist Hatching!!

Well that's OK everybody has to start somewhere . When I say pointy end elevated I mean egg laying flat with the pointy end slightly higher than the fat end just a little higher. As in off center higher not standing up . you don't have a good enough candler for that dark of a egg . Your going to have to figure out two things where the beak is and which side is up. When you hand turn or the hen turns the egg is horizontal with the big end slightly higher than the pointy end . Very few hatch eggs in the vertical position . you stop turning the eggs and la them down on the eighteenth day I do fifteen or sixteen . This gives the chick time to move into the hatching position . I'm sure you have read all this . My thinking is the chick hasn't turned . If nothing else lay it down .make it rain in the incubator and hope for the best

Get the humidity up till moisture forms on the top . put in a bowl of water with paper towels hanging slightly over the edge of the bowl . If you hear peeping movement doesn't matter . It is very important that the beak be at the top of the egg . Keep it moist

I have moisture at the top of the egg already, and I didn't hear anything either. I guess I just need to let it do it's thing and wait until morning. I'm sorry if I kept you up. Thanks for everything! I will message you tomorrow and let you know what's going on

I really hope this chick hatches for you. It's disappointing hatching at first . We learn from or mistakes and go on to the next one. Before you set again check out your incubator and hygrometer and thermometer. We'll give you step by step how to's . I must go to bed got to get up at five . Good luck and keep trying .

I thought we went over this. It is not a test to be done without lots of thought. The eggs are porous, that means they let water and air in. If there is a hair line crack you missed water rushes in the chick drowns.

Opening an egg that has not pipped is dangerous to the chick. The best thing, for next time, is to leave the egg lie in the incubator until day 23 or better yet 24. Things happen. People make these things worse.

Maybe I am missing something but I don't understand why the egg was opened days before it was supposed to hatch? When the chicks get that big in the egg you often don't see any movement. It seems to me that there is way to much messing around with the eggs going on.
