I was wondering about Buddy's head! Glad he pulled through for you!

With the white earlobes the WL is almost definitely mom. Funny how they hide that barring gene, isn't it?

There is no doubting there roos just look closely you can see his saddle feathers no hens i know of have saddle feathers lol. Also those tail feathers are a dead give away he will be crowing before you know it now at his age.

Most likely black sex-link roos.

freddy is 100% cockerel with those hackle and saddle feathers he has.
buddy i am in deffernt on the red on the wings would normally say cockerel but he has every feature of a pullet although with the hackles i can see it appears to me that buddy is indead a cockerel that just hasnt gotten his saddle feathers in

I see no room for debate on these boys -- both are mixed breed cockerels. The comb/wattle development appears male and the red patches on the wing are a sure sign. I expect that they'll have more obvious saddle/hackle development in the next few weeks -- the beginnings of it are already showing.

Darnit. I was so hoping to change Buddy's name! Thanks, ya'll, but I guess I have to admit that I really thought he was a cockerel all along..hoping otherwise, tho! Now watch, he'll crow tomorrow!

I have one just like them that I was sold as a pullet... He has been mating my hen for a month now & crowed for the first time yesterday. He is making a very pretty rooster too. I didn't want a rooster to start off but now I am glad I have him.
