Help!! BEST adjustable Hygrometer &/or Candler you've used?!?

Quote:
I also use these, but I don't have not one that reads the same. I have 4 of them and they all read different. So, I am searching for a better one.

I purchased two of these and they were both WAY off. I checked them with two oral thermometers and they were both wrong. Wal-Mart does have another one for around $8 or so. Its bigger and black. I purchased this one and its dead on with my thermometers. It also shows the low and high for both the thermometer and hygrometer and its displayed on the screen with the current information so you don't have to open your bator to check out what its been doing.

Well, I'm really hoping for more ideas regarding both hygometers and candlers. I already have used 2 styles of Acurite and one Springfield, and have been way less than impressed. Help. I want to buy an adjustable one but would like some suggestions as far as which style works great. Help!!!

I'm not very experienced in hatching but you can use a hot wet rag or spray bottle and moisten the membrane. Once it's moist check for blood vessels. If no blood vessels then you can help break it out VERY slowly. There is another clear and very sticky membrane that you may have to clear away from the head and wing. I recommend not breaking away the lower half of shell, there's to many chances for the chick to bleed to death. I let the chick push out of the bottom half of shell. They will do that when they're ready. Good luck!!!

Now, back to hygrometers/candlers....???!?

I have 12 of the Springfield temp/hygrometers from Walmart, they run $ 6.47 here. I've gotten them over a period of years. The first three I bought - I set up next to each other to check for accuracy, they were spot on for temp ^ humidity. They next 9 were odds and ends, most are accurate for temp, but differing from high to low with humidity. It gets very frustrating. I have returned several for being way too far off and the replacements were only somewhat better. I wish manufacturers had to prove all their claims of accuracy

I have an Airguide I bought from an INdoor gardening supply(on line) place that is my gold standard - it doesn't use batteries and it is nearly 30 years old. I haven't been able to find another like it. If I want to know for certain - I bring in this one.

drumstick diva - THANKS! That's what I need...accuracy! I will add Airguide to my list! I just looked on ebay and found a few options ... I'm 'watching' one!

Anybody else???
